See this post https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/837652

Apparently you need to switch from Dark to White Mode :-(

Hope this gets fixed since all my themes are in Dark Mode.

Dear Joseph,

Thanks for your reply!

I will most likely skip this update.
Can I be sure that the developers are aware of this problem and are already working on fixing the errors and a new firmware will be released very soon?

 @Growler,

Welcome back.heart

I believe they're taking this issue seriously and will release a new firmware fix, but I'm not sure when.

You can certainly skip this firmware update and keep your current settings.

Best Regards!

  @Kevin_Z I haven't seen anyone mention this, but the device isolation feature isn't working in this version. At least in a scenario with the guest network enabled and isolated from the main network.

PS: The devices connected to the guest network are isolated but the devices on the main network that I selected to isolate are not being isolated.

I have already performed a factory reset and reconfigured everything without restoring from a backup file but the problem persists.

  @Walkervr

Hi,

How are the isolated and the non-isolated client devices connected to the main network?

There used to be a bug that allows the isolated and non-isolated client devices to communicate with each other when they are connected to the same wireless band.

Hello@Walkervr ,

Welcome to our community.

First of all, please confirm that you didn't enable a random Mac address on these devices to be isolated.

For step-by-step instructions on Device Isolation, please take a look at How to set up Device Isolation on a TP-Link Router.

If you want to restrict all wireless devices connected to your network from interacting with each other, but still be able to access the Internet, select the Enable AP Isolation checkbox.
To enable AP Isolation:
1) Log in to your router's web management page by visiting https://tplinkwifi.net.
2) Go to Advanced>System Tools>AP Isolation Feature, and enable the option on the 2.4Ghz or 5GGhz WiFi.

Best Regards.

  @woozle There are two isolated devices, one connected to the 2.4GHz network and the other to 5GHz. I did the test based on what you mentioned. I was connected to 5GHz and tried to ping the device connected to 2.4GHz and failed. However, with the isolated device connected to 5ghz, it worked normally!

@Joseph-TP The device's MAC address is not random. Apparently it's a bug according to my test above.

  @Walkervr

Thanks for confirming.

This bug has existed ever since TP-Link implemented the Device Isolation feature on the AX53 V1. (sometime in 2024)

I also noticed the same bug on my AX55 V1 and AXE75 V1, although I must admit I haven't retested these two routers with more recently released firmware versions. So I am not able to tell whether it has already been fixed on these two models.
