  @Solla-topee The diagnosis that yous reccomended I do are ineffective.  The gain for the microphone for these cameras had been changed, in an update yous released.

Your update changed the microphone gain so that it adjusted automatically, now the audio volume is low.

When I try to turn up the gain for the microphone, it will be good for a few seconds.  Then it automatically turns itself down, even though the microphone gain is turned up on full.

Cans you change it back to how it was before or atleast make it optional for the microphone gain to be automatic or manual?

Hi,
Typically, you can adjust the camera's microphone volume manually on the Tapo app > camera's Live View page. If you have adjusted the Tapo C210's microphone volume to the maximum value, but can't hear sound or the sound is very low on the camera's live view page when someone is talking to the camera, please record a video showing the reported phenomenon, then send it to us for further analysis.

You can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive) or YouTube, generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Best Regards

  @J01

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the C645D cameras. We’re sorry to hear about the notification delays and poor audio quality you’ve encountered after the firmware update — we understand how frustrating this must be.
To help us better understand the situation and provide more targeted assistance, could you confirm: Did these issues with notifications and sound only start occurring after the recent firmware update?

Regarding the notification delays, we recommend first referring to the following troubleshooting guide for adjustments — many users have resolved similar issues by optimizing these settings: What should I do if Tapo/Kasa notifications are delayed or not working?

If the problem persists after following the guide, we suggest reaching out to our Support team directly. They can further diagnose your device for you.

Best Regards,

Echo cancellation is the primary cause of the poor audio quality which so many of your customers complain of. Many of us don't need to hold 2-way conversations via the camera's speaker so why not give us an option in the next software update to permit straight monitoring of the camera's microphone? With the risk of audio feedback eliminated, the only processing required would be a bit of compression and/or peak limiting. You'd make me and - judging from what I read online - thousands of other customers very happy.

I don’t think the issue is limited to echo cancellation. It would be worth checking the video and audio quality while the camera is in motion. It seems that the Wi-Fi circuitry may be causing interference within the device. I recommend testing both scenarios: moving the camera manually and moving it via the pan/tilt function, then comparing the results. I have particularly noticed this issue on the C225.
