For what it's worth, I had a X50-5G for a couple of weeks. For 12 of those days I sought assistance from TP-Link, and over those 12 days we went through various settings to try to get the thing to stay connected to the network that my existing Huawei mobile router was happily able to stay connected to.
The Huawei was plug and play, no adjustments necessary.
The Deco X50-5G couldn't stay connected to save its life. 5 bars to one bar, to none. Speeds all over the place as a consequence. Constant disconnections.
I accept there may be situations where the Deco X50-5G might be stable, but it's definitely flaky as the Huawei is bulletproof in this respect, I've had to reboot it perhaps three times in its 3 years mainly due to power outages, but the Deco was impossible to work with needing regular reboots several times a day.
Like the X50-Outdoor, they're a dead loss if TP-Link decide they're not interested any more. I was promised by one of the admins to find out if the Outdoor was unable to be updated with new Firmware to match the X50/55, that was 6 months ago and I'm STILL waiting for a response.
It's frustrating. We give these companies our hard-earned money and get really terrible customer service in return. We ask simple questions and just get ignored.
I dumped my X50-Outdoor for an outdoor AP. The result was stunning with a vastly improved range from a much cheaper product. I'm not sure what they did to restrict the range of the X50-Outdoor but it's crazy slow and huge in comparison.
I will soon be dumping my X55/X60 combo as I need to move to Wifi7, but I WILL NOT be using Deco as I simply cannot bring myself to hand over more money for products that may or may not function as expected. TP-Link have had all the cash they're ever getting out of me.
My advice; dump Deco.
