  @David-TP

I have bought a Deco X50 from Amazon Japan, I want to use WireGuard and update to the lastest firmware.

After update, I found the firmware version is 1.4.4_build_20240821 and it has not WireGuard.

Can you help me?

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

Did you use V6 Plus as the internet connection type?

If yes, it is similar to the case here:https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/724808

Other than that, Deco X50_V3_1.4.4 hasn't added WireGuard VPN protocol under the VPN Server/Client.

Best regards.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, my Deco is X50_V3.

Because I also have X50_V1 and it can use WireGuard, so I think Deco X50_V3 also can use WireGuard.

Do you have any plan to add WireGuard to Deco X50_V3?

Hi, Yes, Deco X50_V3 is also planned to support WireGuard VPN later via a firmware upgrade.

Best regards.

Please stop sending URL's or files by PM.

Post files in the appropriate topic and make them findable and clear as hell.

Beta FW should encorporate the exact HW revisions it is suitable for in the topic.

Now I have to guess or read a bunch of topics to find out if V1 is indeed the correct firmware for my X50 V1.2 (which is still V1)..

I see the question asked three times now and I have to ask it for a fourth time.

Can I have the latest and greatest beta FW for X50 v1.2?

I could just have clicked a link instead of having to ask it again, saving you and me some time and to do something usefull.

My biggest problem is automatic channel selection.

I want to choose a 2.4GHz channel other then my Zigbee home automation which encompasses more then 150 devices.

Yes I could change the Zigbee channel. No I do not want to enroll every single device again because I just switched channels..

Also the Deco app tells me that channel 36 for 5GHz is the best while every other WiFi signal in range is on channel 38...

Channels 48 and 52 are totally unused but the Deco apps refuses to switch to the proper channel..

Detection also fails a lot forcing me to press "Scan again" whilst crossing my fingers if it will work this time.

I agree on the problem mentioned before, too many devices and version, too little effort to make the best of them.

It should not matter if someone is able to spend 50 or 200 bucks per device, TP-Link should not update only the expensive devices..

Fix the baseline, make every current device work properly, fix the app and make your customers happy before releasing yet another hardware revision with appearently again completely different firmware that yet again has to be maintained while the baseline still sucks.

No I do not blame you David, no I do not blame the engineers but I do blame the fact no one steps up and takes all those messages on this board seriously and takes action.

@David-TP how is the work on being able to see weekly/monthly per-device WAN data usage going? I keep seeing unclear posts from you suggesting that it's being looked into.

In a world where ISPs impose data caps, it's super important to be able to see which of my household's devices are using up all of our monthly data!

This is the #1 thing I miss after switching to tp-link, and - even though I'm otherwise happy with my Deco's - this frustration will probably result in my switching to another vendor when it comes time to upgrade.
